Information for Teachers
The History Center provides educational programs for students in kindergarten through 3rd grade. Our programs take place at the downtown Cedar Rapids Public Library at 450 5th Ave SE. Programs may be scheduled by contacting Jami Roskamp at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 319-362-1501.
Early Learners: Puppet Program is geared toward Kindergarten and 1st grade students. Students engage in different historical topics and share their own personal history with CeCe Rabbit, The History Center’s puppet ambassador.
Second Grade Tours engage with The History Center’s exhibit “The Old Ball Game”. Students will discuss topics such as the early settlement of Cedar Rapids and Immigration.
Third Grade Tours take part in The History Center’s exhibit “The Old Ball Game”. Students will discuss topics such as the development of industry in Cedar Rapids and Artifact Exploration.

The program fee is $3 per student. Program fees are currently covered by our education sponsors, making these programs free of charge to students and teachers.
